September Favorites

The month of September went by really fast. I'm kind of sad to know that 3/4 of the year is already over, but I'm excited for October for many reasons: I'll have fall break, cooler weather for fall outfits, and my birthday at the end of the month. I didn't really think about my favorites for this month until the other day. There aren't a lot, but continue to read if you're interested!

1. Concealer stick from e.l.f.
  • I've been using this a lot this past month and I really like how easy it is to use. I think it does pretty good for coverage if you need anything.
2. Naked Basics Eyeshadow Palette from Urban Decay
  • I've been using this eyeshadow palette almost every day I go to school. I really enjoy that they are all matte shadows because all my other palettes have shimmer to it. It's a really easy for me when I'm in a rush in the mornings.
3. BIC Round Stick Pen
  • I grabbed a pack of these pens from Wal-Mart since they were like 75 cents. I usually don't like writing in pens like these, but they have been handy to have with me at my desk. I use them to write down on my post-its and to do practice problems.
4. "Rush Hour" nail polish from Sally Hansen
  • I talked about how this was one of my favorite nail colors for the fall in my tag post. I couldn't find a stock picture to use for this post, sorry haha. It's like the perfect cool toned pinkish/purple. I can't explain it, but if you Google it, you'll see what I mean.

This month I also loved making strawberry and banana smoothies. It's weird, all summer the strawberries at the store weren't looking too good, but now that it's fall, the strawberries are looking better.

My favorite shows on Netflix this month were:
  • Law & Order: SVU - I finished season 16, which is the last season that they have up on Netflix. I teared up at the end even though I knew what was going to happen anyways. I just really like Nick and Benson together.
  • Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp - This is a Netflix original series and I finished this in one Sunday afternoon. It's really funny to me and I like it. I can't wait for more episodes, haha. It has a lot of famous actors in it like Paul Rudd, the voice of Bob from Bob's Burgers, and Amy Poehler.
Thanks for reading this post! I hope you had a good September and have a happy October. ~

Fifth Week of the Fall Semester

This post is late, sorry! Haha. But anyways, this was how my fifth week of the semester went.

On Tuesday, September 22, I had my first exam for my English class. I spent the night before studying for hours and tried my best to do some more before I left. I made myself a strawberry and banana smoothie with chia seeds for breakfast.

On Wednesday, September 23, I drew my rough draft in my art class. Our assignment was to create a self-portrait of ourselves and we had to use oil pastels. I tried to make myself look like a mermaid in previous sketches, but I didn't really know how to and I couldn't draw myself realistic so I went with this instead: me as a mermaid as a Tim Burton character. I liked the way it turned out for my rough draft.

On Thursday, September 24, I got my English exam back. I was so shocked with my grade. I was so proud of myself, haha. My classmate got a 62 and I heard the girls that sit behind me groan and say how they failed. I saw the girl that I thought would do good on got a 96, the girl behind me got a 103, and some other girl got a 65. I felt really good about my score, haha. I asked another girl the next day what she got and she said she got a 106, which is a perfect score. I wanted to take the exam home to keep, but we weren't allowed to so I took a picture of it, lol.

On Friday, September 25, I went to my first observation for my CSD class. I went for an hour and a half after my first class. Watching the observations made me feel really good about pursuing my career in Speech-Language Pathology. After that, I went to run errands for my mom and got a free lunch from Chick-fil-a with my boyfriend. It was raining a little that afternoon too.

We went to this place called Pancho N' Luigi's for dinner. We ordered the monster burrito to share. No where on the menu did it say that there would be anything with cilantro in it, the other burritos did. I was really upset that once I bit into it, there was some cilantro in it so eventually I just stopped eating it because I could only eat one side of it.

We got the monster burrito, chicken taquitos, and I wanted a side of rice. The rice was probably the best thing to me lol. My boyfriend did like the burrito though, but it's not Chipotle.

 The burrito was huge!!

When we got back home, we shared a slice of cake that my mom got me on Wednesday. It's a Japanese strawberry shortcake, which is my favorite.

Thanks for reading this post and have a good day!

Meal Plan Ideas

I just finished my fifth week of my sophomore year. I'm surprised I have gone through with this, but I've prepared my lunch for Monday-Thursday of each week. I do this so I can control what I eat and give myself the right portion of the different food groups I need to take in because eating enough and healthily is important to me. It's always something different every week, but I made the same thing for the second and third week because I had ate from the food truck on the second week.

On the first week, I made myself a salad. I took a handful of spinach and grilled two strips of chicken: the chicken was just seasoned with salt and pepper. With it, I packed some croutons and homemade caesar dressing. If you're interested in how I made my own caesar dressing, click this link. Then I brought strawberries, some pita crackers, and a slice of swiss cheese.

I did my best to incorporate my meal to having 1/3 grains, 1/3 vegetables, and 1/3 protein. I also had fruit and dairy products.

On the second and third week, I brought a sandwich. In the sandwich was Applegate Natural's turkey, a slice of swiss cheese, and spinach on 8 grain bread. I also brought a pouch of applesauce (that's the only way I'll eat it, hehe.) Then I had some pop chips as my treat, haha. I really like chips, so they are the healthiest option.

On the fourth week, I brought a flatbread. I put chicken, a slice of swiss cheese, and lettuce on a 5 grain "fold it" flatbread. I heated it in the oven the night before, so when I ate it for lunch the next day, it was cold. Oh well, haha. I packed the same apple sauce pouch and pop chips.

On the fifth week, I brought tuna salad. My mom makes it, so I couldn't tell you the exact recipe but I know she uses Japanese mayonnaise, onions, and white pepper. Then I made pita crips out of pita bread. I made a mix of olive oil, salt, and pepper and brushed it on the top of the pita. Then I toasted them until brown. I cut them up into 8 slices, like a pizza. (It doesn't look like that in the first picture because I didn't start cutting it like that until the next day.) I then ripped a slice of swiss cheese into 8 pieces and brought some spinach with me. I also packed the applesauce pouch again, haha. It's really good to me. I assembled it together at school like in the picture above.

All of these meals took me maybe 10 minutes to prepare the night before to leave in the fridge. I hope you enjoyed this post and will try out one of my meal plan ideas. Meal planning saves you money, time, and helps you control what you eat.

Tag: I ❤ Fall

Today is the start of fall/autumn. I can't believe September is coming to an end already and October is right around the corner. Fall is my favorite season, October is my birthday month, and that means the holidays are coming. I'll miss summer though, mostly for the warm weather and beach days. Where I live, it can get pretty cold/windy some days, which I'm not that excited for, haha. Here's a tag I thought would be fun to kick off the start of fall.

1. Favorite Fall lip product?
A lip scrub, lip balm, and a neutral lip color. I don't own any dark lip colors, but I'd like to get some so maybe this answer will change eventually.
I'll be using the "mint julips" lip scrub from Lush, mostly burt's bees (I have lots of other lip balms I jump around with though), and the lip pencil in the color "natural" from NYX.

2. Favorite Fall Nail Polish?

I don't own any dark nail colors either, haha. I'm not really into dark colors but I want to get a nice berry or maroon color.
I would have to say my favorite nail polish color for fall would have to be "fun fair" from Ciate or "rush hour" from Sally Hansen.

3. Favorite Starbucks Fall Drink?

I haven't really tried the pumpkin spice latte everyone loves, but I will this season! My friends Andy and Jennelle really like it.
Since the weather gets colder, I stop getting cold drinks and I'll usually get the white chocolate mocha.

4. Favorite Fall Candle?

I don't really use candles because my mom told me how they aren't really good to use, but I think my favorite fall candle was a pecan waffle one from Bath & Body Works.

5. Favorite Fall Scarf or accessory?
I don't wear scarves as much as I would want to and I don't really accessorize.. So I can't answer this question really, haha. Do shoes count? Cause if so, then boots!

6. Haunted house, haunted hay ride, or haunted corn maze?

None because I extremely dislike anything scary, haha.

7. Favorite Halloween movie?

Hotel Transylvania. I watched it in my art class junior year of high school, and I thought it was so cute!
I don't really count "The Nightmare Before Christmas" as a Halloween movie because I feel like it's more of a Christmas movie, but if you count it, then it's one of my favorite Halloween movies, haha.

8. Favorite candy to eat on Halloween?

I don't really eat candy on Halloween since I don't trick-or-treat or am home when my parents give out candy. But as a kid, I liked getting the gummies, sour candy, smarties, or pretzels.

9. What are you dressing up as for Halloween?!

This year, I want to be the bride from "The Corpse Bride."

10. What is your Favorite thing about Fall?

I think my favorite thing is how staying warm/snuggling. My second favorite things is how nature looks. I really like how the leaves change colors. Oh, and I like how things are starting to get cold so we have warm drinks, more blankets, and warm clothes.

I tag anyone who would like to do this! I really hope to see at least one person do it, hehe.

Fourth Week of the Fall Semester

I took this picture on Tuesday, 9/15, and as I was doing so, I realized I had a blueberry yogurt stain on my shirt, haha. I wore this cardigan and a white top three days in a row too.

I went to Starbucks after school with my boyfriend and did some homework. I got the mango black iced tea lemonade again. I went to get food from my aunt after and ate it for dinner. The garlic bread was really good, that's why I wanted to picture it, haha.

On Thursday, 9/17, I had a chocolate croissant from the Fresh Market, and it was pretty good, haha. I just wanted to share that.

On Friday, 9/18, I went to Chipotle for lunch with Christian and Michael because my boyfriend was late to pick me up. He met up with us there eventually. Then we went our separate ways and I went to the mall with my boyfriend. I picked up a few things and then we got slurpees since they are BOGO free this weekend. Then I did some shopping again and then we went home and cleaned my room because my brother made a small mess. Then we went to Costco with my dad and brother and got our dinner from there. Then went home, watched Law & Order: SVU, and then went back to cleaning. I eventually passed out cause I was so tired, haha.

My School Supplies/Essnetials + A Few Organization Tips

Hi, everyone! So I'm in the middle of my 4th of week of my sophomore year of college. If you're in high school, then school just started for you around last week, at least where I live. If you're interested in what I bring to school and use to stay organized, then keep reading.

It's always good to have a bag to carry all your school things in. These are the bags that I've been using since the semester started. Somedays, I use my Herschel book bag when I have to carry a lot or don't want to carry multiple bags. If I bring my laptop to school that day, then I'll use my Herschel laptop case. Then on other days, mostly on MWF, I just bring my American Apparel cities bag since I don't need much for my classes on those days. Sometimes I'll bring my Herschel laptop bag with the AA bag if I don't want to wear a book bag with my outfit, haha.

My laptop, planner, pencil case, and glasses are my essentials for school. I use my laptop for blackboard, to download the power-points from class, and do homework. I use my planner to write down all my school assignments and to help me plan ahead. I need my glasses for when I can't see in class and the pencil case helps me carry everything in a compact way. I also have water with me at all times, which I didn't picture. I bring my Dean & Deluca water bottle, a 1L smart water bottle, or a regular 16.0 oz bottle.
The notebooks and folders I got from Target that I've showed you in previous haul posts are what I use for school.

This is what I keep in my pencil case. I have a black pentel eraser I started using last semester and 3 different color post it tabs.

Here's a closeup of what's in my pencil case.

This is what I have in all 3 bags that I showed you at the beginning of this post. I keep a pad in each bag too, I just don't have that pictured, haha. I have an eos chapstick, hand sanitizer, pack of tissues, gum, wet wipes, hygiene cloth, bandaids, and snacks in each bag. They are good to have with you in case anything happens. I put my burt's bees, floss, and headphones in whichever bag I use for the day. I also bring my wallet every day, which isn't pictured.

I left the tag on it, lol.
If you saw my "Third Week of the Fall Semester" post, I said I went to Target. I went to get a storage bin because I wanted to use it to hold all my school things so I didn't have them on the floor or on top of my recycle box. It was about $10 because it was a little big, but I think it's cute.
I put the things I bring to school in this storage bin: my notebooks, folders, planner, pencil case, glasses and art supplies. Then I put the things I need for school that I use at home in it too: textbooks, clipboard, and pens.

I haven't been using my white board much, but I have a count down for the how many days of classes left until the end of the semester. After the 3rd week, I had 60 days left. I also have written down what my breakfast of the week would be. Then I have my post-it pad in front of it.

I use the post-its to write down the things from my planner and then organize what order I should do them in.

I hope you liked this post! Let me know if you do any of the same things as me or will use some of my organizing tips down in the comments. If you'd like me to do more school related posts or have any recommendations, please leave a comment.

Third Week of the Fall Semester

I only have one day to talk about in this post since not much really happened this week. It was a 4 day school week and it went by fast, which was nice lol. M made a post on what happened Monday.

On Friday, September 11th, it was my boyfriend and I's 46 months. He drove me to school since my friend Christian didn't need to go to school that day and he's usually my ride. Then we went to eat lunch right after my class at around 11 because we didn't eat breakfast and we were hungry.

Then we went to my house and I played animal crossing before we went to the mall. I got a pair of boots that I'll show you guys in my monthly haul. Then we went to this paper store I wanted to go to. I didn't get anything but I found a lot of things I wanted so he took pictures of the them for future reference, haha. Then we went to Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and Target. Then to dinner.

I let him choose dinner since I didn't really know what to eat and I kind of picked lunch. He decided on pizza so we went to this place that made personal pizzas. A small pizza cost $8. It's kind of like the place we went to in Washington D.C., but not as good and not as worth the price, haha.

Then we went back to my house and watched Law & Order: SVU while I cleaned my room.

5 Seconds of Summer ROWYSO Concert

On Monday, September 7th, there was no school since it was Labor Day. It was also the day of the % Seconds of Summer Rock Out With Your Socks Out concert. I got VIP tickets to this concert in August 2014 during the pre-sale event, haha.

This was my outfit for the concert. Since my boyfriend and I had VIP tickets, we had to be there hours earlier to check in and be there for the sound check experience and Q&A. 5SOS came out onto the stage one by one. I told myself I wouldn't cry since I saw them last summer, but as soon as Calum came out, I started crying, haha. They sung "She's Kinda Hot" and then did the Q&A. I regretted not trying to ask a question, but oh well. Then they sung "Jet Black Heart." Then we were sent to wait outside of the seating area. I went to the bathroom and then waited until we were allowed to do the crowd free shopping. I bought a 4-pack poster set of 5SOS. Then we got some food because we were getting hungry and it was starting to be dinner time.

This cost $10.50, sadly. But it was good, haha. I sprinkled parmesan garlic powder meant for popcorn on top of it.

I took this picture just to show my parents how close I was to the stage. I was two rows behind the pit.

Things were changing on the big screen while we were waiting for Hey Violet to open. They were playing songs while we were waiting too.

Here's a picture of my boyfriend and I, haha.

Hey Violet opened for 5SOS. If you don't know this band, it's the first band 5SOS signed on their record label called "Hi or Hey Records." There are 3 girls and 1 boy. I didn't really listen to their music until an hour before I left for the concert to be honest, lol. But I did like some of their songs. They played "I Can Feel It" and I was singing along to that because it's a really fun and catchy song. You should check them out.

This is what the stag looked like after Hey Violet performed and the stage crew was setting up for 5SOS.

So I didn't get a good picture of Ashton, the drummer, but you can see his drums on the top picture, haha.

Here are a few more pictures, haha.

These are just pictures of the love of my life, Calum Hood lol. I asked my boyfriend to take a picture of me with Calum's face on the big screen - that was the best he could do, haha.

Here are some videos that I took. They are mostly close-ups of Calum, haha.

Me screaming for Calum, haha.

This is 5SOS performing "Permanent Vacation."

video
This is 5SOS performing "Heartache On The Big Screen" which is one of my favorites from them.

video
This is 5SOS performing "Amnesia."

video
This is 5SOS performing "Beside You." I always would imagine Calum singing this to me lol.

This is 5SOS performing "She Looks So Perfect" ft. my boyfriend & I.

Here is another one, haha.

It was great seeing these boys live again. My dad took that picture of my boyfriend and I before we got our passes to go inside the venue. My seats were amazing, the only bad thing were the high pitched screams some girls have, haha. Also, these are the pictures that I bought at the concert. I lost my voice by the end of the concert and I couldn't hear out of my right ear. I actually couldn't hear out of it that well the next morning too, haha. It was a great night and thanks to my boyfriend for going with me.
