WWA Tour/ NJ & NY Trip

Hi, everyone! I am so sorry for my lack of posts this month. I just got busy once I left for my 3 day trip which this post is about. After I came back home, the next two mornings I went straight to the beach. Then on Saturday, I went with my friend to his move-in day because he’s going to a University about 2 hours away from me.
This is also my first week of college! I can’t wait to talk about it in another post, hopefully sometime this weekend.
But anyways, read below to know about my trip!

On Monday, August 11, I went with my family and boyfriend to Washington D.C. My parents took us for the One Direction WWA Tour. I wanted to get tickets back in December when they first released it, but I had nobody to go with, so I told myself it was okay and I would just go to another one of their concerts because they are bound to have another. (They have one for 2015, but there isn't any info of them coming anywhere near me yet.) But then, a couple months ago, I found out 5 Seconds of Summer were opening for them and I freaked out and broke down crying and of course bought tickets. It ended up costing me a lot, but luckily I had money saved because I kept telling my dad, “THIS IS MY WHOLE LIFE.”  (For all of you who don’t know, I am in love with Calum Hood.)

We hit the road in the morning and got to IKEA by around lunch time. We ate lunch there and I got a few more things I wanted. (If you remember how I went back in June.) We got some food from Bon-Chon for dinner and brought it back to our hotel. My boyfriend and I watched some TV, took a nap, and ate our dinner until it was time for us to head to the concert.
(We are wearing shoes we got each other on our 2-and-a-half anniversary.)

Going into the city has the worst traffic. I thought we were going to be late because it was going to start at 7, but we made it in time and it kind of started a little later. (Thank goodness!) My boyfriend bought me a 5SOS shirt for me; he’s such a sweetie. We weren’t at our right seats yet, but I refused to move because 5SOS were starting to come out and Ashton, the drummer, came out first so I was screaming. And then, Calum stepped on stage, and tears came to my eyes. I looked at my boyfriend and said, “I’M GOING TO CRY..” It was the greatest moment of my life ever. We then went to our seats and when I bought these tickets, it said that it was going to be a very bad seat and that I would barely see anything. THAT WAS A LIE HAHA. I was at the very front row of the second level, but I was all the way on the right side, which was completely fine because I was the closest to the jumbotron.

It rained throughout the concert, but it was the greatest concert I’ve ever been too. One Direction was awesome and I’m so happy I got to see them live. I listen to their Midnight Memories album every day. I died every time I saw Niall that night. Like, I can’t even describe how great the concert was - it was amazing and I loved it. It was the perfect way to spend my 33 months with my boyfriend.

We went back to the hotel and after getting ready for bed, went to sleep for the night. The next morning, we got some breakfast they had downstairs and then got ready to leave. We dropped off my boyfriend at the station where he took a bus back home. (It’s a long, stupid story.) I was headed to New Jersey for my annual visit. We went shopping, checked into the hotel first, then went to dinner, and went shopping again. (I will be making a haul post next!)

(It was raining the whole drive up to Jersey.)

The next day, we went to New York and I went to the Tony Moly store, Brandy Melville, and American Apparel store. After that, we went back to the first mall we went to the day before and by 6PM, we hit the road to go back home. I found a random Chipotle in the middle of nowhere, which was overpriced but probably because it was like the only one in the area.
My dad worked really hard to figure a way to take us to our annual NJ/NY trip. He said it was my graduation gift and a reminder to work really hard once college starts. It was really fun and this was the shortest I’ve ever stayed there, but it was still a nice time.

Thanks for reading!

Cook With Me pt. III

Hi, everyone! I’ve been meaning to make this post for the past month but I’ve gotten lazy and just so busy this past week. This is my lat week of summer before I start college so I’m going to make all the posts I’ve been wanting to before it ends. Let’s start!

Nana Cream.

This is great for breakfast, a quick snack, or dessert!

Make sure you freeze your banana over night

I blended together a frozen banana, 1 tbsp. of peanut butter, and 1 tsp. of cacao powder. I also added some strawberries, because I strawberries.

Gluten-Free Chocolate Chip Cookies.

I made these with my boyfriend one afternoon I was feeling down and it came out pretty good for our first try. I used this recipe, but I stuck it in the oven for a shorter amount of time.

Breakfast Smoothie.

This is so easy to make if you’re on the go or you just love smoothies.

What I put in this smoothie was:
  • spinach
  • frozen blueberries
  • 1 banana
  • strawberries
  • chia seeds
  • 3/4 cup of milk
  • a spoonful of greek yogurt
Just blend it together and there you go!

Chia Pudding.

The first time I made this, my mom didn’t believe that it would turn into a pudding consistency and I was kind of doubtful too, but it worked out so yay.
  • 1 cup of milk (I use almond milk or soy milk)
  • 1/4 cup of chia seeds
  • 1/4 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 1 tbs of maple syrup (You can use honey if you’d like)
Mix ingredients together until it becomes a little thicker and then refrigerate it over night.
I added strawberries and my favorite granola, but you can top the pudding with your fruits, nuts, etc. of your choice.

Chicken Pasta.

This was a really easy meal I made to go with the pizza (listed next) my boyfriend and I made one night.

All I did was cook whole wheat rotini, grilled some chicken and chopped it into pieces, and then poured tomato sauce on top. I also sprinkled some grated parmesan cheese on top.
Meat-less Pizza.

I found this recipe online one day and had to try it for myself. My boyfriend and I made it for dinner because it looked so good and let me tell you, it was delicious! I changed a few things on the recipe though.

This is what I used to make my pizza:
  • whole wheat pizza dough
  • 1 zucchini
  • frozen sweet corn
  • sliced mozzarella
  • balsamic vinegar
I sliced my zucchini (like pepperoni) and then grilled them. Then, I rolled the pizza dough out and spread the zucchinis around. Then I spread the corn and cheese on top. I put it in the oven for about 15-18 minutes at 450 degrees. After I took it out, I drizzled balsamic vinegar all over it. I’m telling you, it was so good.

Meal Prep.
I really enjoy doing my meal preps every week. You can follow this chicken recipe here. The sweet potato wedges, I just cut up, covered it in olive oil, sprinkled it with salt and pepper, and then baked them until they were done.

Strawberry & Banana Smoothie.
I love strawberry and banana smoothies, but whenever I buy one from a smoothie place I know there’s always a lot of sugar in it. So, I made a healthier version of it at home.
All you need to do is mix these ingredients together:
  • 1/4 cup of greek yogurt
  • strawberries
  • half a banana
  • 1/2 cup of almond milk or skim milk
  • 5 ice cubes

Strawberry Chocolate Chip Cake.

One night, my boyfriend and I decided to bake a cake. And since I had strawberries at home, we decided to make this cake! The link to the recipe is here.
It’s not too sweet, so it’s just right. I changed the recipe a little bit.
I used dark chocolate chips and used a few semi-sweet chocolate chips to sprinkle on top. I also mixed some almond flour with the other flour.

Vegan Banana French Toast.

My dad had bought baguettes, so I told him to save him some so I could try my banana french toast.
What you need is:
  • slices of french toast
  • 3/4 cup of unsweetend almond milk
  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp of cinnamon

First, mash up the banana then add in the milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Next, heat up your pan and let the bread soak in the batter on both sides. Then, put the bread on the pan an cook each side until a light brown.

Brownie with White Chocolate Frosting.

The other afternoon at the beach, my boyfriend said he wanted to bake something so we agreed on making these brownies. He ended up getting a haircut from my dad, so I just made the brownies on my own but he helped with the frosting.

I used this recipe. I didn’t have red food coloring and it’s not really good for you anyways, so I didn’t use it.
Acai Berry Smoothie.

I made this for breakfast on the go when I went to DC last Monday. I blended my frozen acai berry pack with orange juice, but the acai smell and taste was not pleasant to me whatsoever, so I added a lot more orange juice and it tasted better. Then I added some of my favorite granola on top. It’s really easy and quick.
I hope you try out one of these recipes and let me know what you think of them in the comments below.
Also, if you have any questions feel free to ask below.

A Stolen Wallet, Monumentour Concert, Job Interview, Haircut, and Fitness Update

Good afternoon.   I wanted make this post the other day, but I never got around to it. I just wanted to make an update with what’s been going on in my life since last Saturday, July 26. Let’s start.

Last Saturday, my friend took me to go see Lucy because he wanted to go see it. I left my wallet in the car, we watched the movie (it was just okay, I felt like there could have been more to it), and then we went back to the car. When we went back to the car, the passenger window was broken and someone had broken in. I didn’t realize it at first, but a couple minutes later, I realized my wallet was gone.  It was my favorite wallet ever and I was so upset. The guy used my credit card at a gas station, but they had no security cameras so there’s that.. It just sucks that I had pictures of my boyfriend and I, my brother, and younger cousin as well as school ID’s of me and my friends. I also HATE the fact that they know my name and where I live and all that.  So remember, hide ALL items in your car and of course keep the windows up and doors locked.

Then on Tuesday, I went to the Monumentour with my boyfriend and his brother. I’ve been debating on whether to go or not because I already saw New Politics and Fall Out Boy back in December and when I first heard about the concerts, I didn’t feel like going again just for Paramore. But as time went by, I changed my mind and really wanted to see Paramore. My aunt had 3 tickets and I was convincing her to not take her two kids and instead take my boyfriend and I. She ended up not wanting to go because of a headache and gave me the tickets and sold the third on to my boyfriend’s brother. It was his first concert!

We picked up the tickets from her, got dinner from Cook Out, and headed to the concert. The line wasn’t bad whatsoever, but by the time we got there we missed the first band, which was New Politics. We found a spot on the lawn, and waited for Paramore to come out. It was so cool to see them live! One girl actually got chosen to go on stage and sing with Hayley. Then we waited for Fall Out Boy to come out, and they sang some different songs from the last time I saw them but of course sang my favorites from them. I sang my heart out, haha.

On Wednesday, I got a call for a job I applied to online about a week prior and was asked to come in for an interview the next morning at 11. I went to my interview Thursday and it was a quick interview, but I think I did really well because I made her laugh a lot. I asked her about my hair, and she didn’t have a problem with it, but the head manager would have so if I get the job, I would have to change my hair color which I don’t mind because I was planning on changing it soon. She had another interview later that day and said would call me by at least Monday, so I’m really praying I get this job!

Later that day, I got a haircut. I never realized that my hair kind of covered my whole back until I took a picture of before I cut my hair. I got around 5 inches cut off and I really don’t like how the ends up my hair look like it’s cut straight across because I never want my hair to look like that, but when I put my hair all to the back, it doesn’t look like that so hopefully it grows to look the way I want it to in the next few weeks before school starts.

Thank you for reading this lengthy post!
