Cook With Me pt. II

Hi there.  I've got some meals to share with you again! I've been sleeping in a lot these past two weeks, so I've been really lazy and not making any meals, which also means I've been lazy about getting around to making this post. That being said, I'm working on my sleeping schedule and I went to get some groceries today for my meal prep for this upcoming week and it just inspired me to finally getting around to making this post. So, let's begin!

 To the right is an easy quick fix for breakfast or a snack.
I make this a lot when I can't think of anything to eat.

  • pita bread
  • lemon
  • avocado mashed with extra virgin olive oil
  • one egg
  • salt, pepper, chili flakes, & cumin
My pita bread was from Panera because someone I knew had a bags and bags of bread from Panera and so she let me take whatever I wanted and I stored it in my freezer.

I toasted the pita bread and then spread the avocado/olive oil mix on top. Then I sprinkled some salt, pepper, chili flakes, and cumin on top. Then I scrambled egg whites and put them on top.

To the left was my first attempt at banana pancakes.. Lol. It looked like scrambled eggs, but it didn't taste so bad. I got the recipe from here. I did exactly as the recipe said to except I didn't use coconut flakes.

All you need is 1 banana1 egg, and 1/2 tsp. of coconut oil.

All you need to do is mash the banana and egg into a bowl until it is at a smooth consistency. Then spread the coconut oil over your pan and heat it on medium. Then pour your batter onto the pan and cook each side for about 3 minutes. 

I plan on making these again and will definitely make another post on how they turn out.
In my mason jar is earl grey with unsweetened soy milk. I also used maple syrup on these pancakes.

Above is a meal prep I made the other week that actually took me about two hours to make one Sunday night. It was really tasty, so it was worth it! I got the recipe for the honey-glazed chicken here. I tweaked it a bit and I would share what I did with you all but I can't remember what I did to it exactly.. I just remember I didn't leave it in the oven for more than an hour.
The recipe for the mashed sweet potatoes are from here. I tweaked it a bit and instead of sticking the sweet potatoes in the microwave, I boiled them. I also added chia seeds in it. The final product came out a little runny, but it was still tasty nonetheless. This is great for any of you that love cinnamon!
The veggies were just a frozen bag of mixed vegetables & I cooked 10 meals worth: 5 for me and 5 for my boyfriend.

To the right was an easy lunch I made for my boyfriend and I the other day. A honey-soy glazed salmon fillet with brown rice, broccoli, and the yellow bean sprout thing. (I don't know the name lol.)

It was really, really easy to make and tasty!

Beach Day ☼

Hi, everyone!   Look at me, posting two days in a row, hehe. Well, I just wanted to write about how my day went yesterday. It was Friday, and I had to take my driving test again. I haven't seen my driving instructor in over a year. He came to my house at around 9:30 in the morning. I woke up at a little before 8, oh my gosh I haven't woken up that early in like two weeks. I've been sleeping in a lot, it's so bad. But I'm trying to get back on track. Anyways, I was nervous about passing, but luckily it was kind of easier this time around and I passed!  

I took a "Yay I passed!" picture when I got back home lol.

I waited for my boyfriend to get out from his shadowing he does at a hospital so we could hurry and start our afternoon. He finally got to my house and I was being slow about getting ready because I was writing my Lush review (the one I made yesterday). I finally got ready and we began are small errands and got lunch from Chipotle because I   Chipotle, hehe. We then drove all the way down by the beach but once we got to the street I wanted to go to, we weren't sure where we were allowed to park so we drove back and parked in a garage. The parking garage was right by the beach, so the walking wasn't bad whatsoever. The only problem I had was that there was a lot of people, but oh well.

I decided to try pinto beans in my bowl (mine is on the left and Dave's is on the right) and I asked the lady for just a little, and I kept telling her, "just a little." She kinda gave me a lot, so I ended up just picking them out lol. And I recommend the pineapple mango with coconut water from Naked! I love it.  

The weather was perfect for an afternoon at the beach. It was beautiful outside!  The water wasn't that cold, but I didn't go in all the way because I didn't want to mess up my hair.

After the beach, I went to visit our friend Nikko at his work while Dave went to the store next door for a few minutes, then he joined us. We talked for a while and then headed to the mall. We went to get something my mom wanted, but they didn't have any in stock so I got boba. I've been craving boba and finally got some. I love green tea boba because I love green tea/matcha flavored things. Except the green tea frappuccinos from Starbucks, I think those taste awful.

We then picked up some sushi for dinner and headed back to my place. We watched Muppets Most Wanted and then Ponyo. It was Dave's first time watching Ponyo, but we didn't finish because it was getting late and he had to take a test in the morning.

I can't remember the last time I had a good, fun, and eventful day like this. I hope there's more days like this before school starts.

Lush Review: Roots

Hi, everyone! I'm here with another Lush review. I got this as one of my gifts from my two-and-a-half year anniversary with my boyfriend back in May. (The person that's been getting me the Lush products I've reviewed, hehe.) Let's get started!

This product contains fresh mint, honey, peppermint oil, extra virgin olive oil, and other oils. It's a really easy application. This product is called "Roots," and so you apply this all over your roots/scalp. You can apply it to rest of your hair if you'd like too. Leave it on for 20-30 minutes, then shampoo it out. (I rinse it out of my hair, shampoo, and then condition my hair.)

I've used this maybe 3-4 times already and I still have about 1/3-1/4 of the pot left.
This product smells so minty and I love it! It reminds me of the Tea Tree shampoo and conditioner. If you use a shampoo and conditioner that doesn't have an overpowering scent, then the minty scent will stay in your hair.

A couple months ago, I tried a different hair dye and shampoo, and I don't know what happened but every time I got in the shower, my scalp always itched as soon as it hit the water. And sometimes if I didn't wash my hair the next day, it would just itch really bad. I tried about 3 other shampoo's and I still had that problem, which was very unusual because I never had that problem with my hair before. I used this hair mask and wow. For one, it felt amazing. I love that tingly feeling the minty oils leave on my scalp. After one use, I could tell that my scalp was feeling better and the itchiness died down. I  used it one more time and it got rid of the problem for me.

This product is said to be great for fine, thin hair, to give it volume and shine. But it's a great mask for your roots in general. Remember, healthy, strong roots will lead to healthy hair!

Quick Update

Hello, readers!   How is everyone's summer going? I finally got around to tweaking my blog a little bit today! I'm a little rusty with my html skills, but hopefully I get them back as time goes. My old Mac would always run slow so it was really hard for me to post a lot and I was lazy too.. Haha. But, last Friday I made my first big girl purchase and bought myself a Macbook Pro for my college years.

I bought this for school, but also for my every day use, so I plan on posting and dedicating myself more to this blog. Yay!

I just wanted to let you all know that I will be posting another Lush review within the next week
